Calculation and Simulation of Message Delay on TDMA Short-wave Communication Network

چکیده
TDMA protocol is a main channel access method of wireless networks used in military fields, which works by dividing a radio frequency into time slots and allocating slots to multiple calls. Two mathematical models are proposed to calculate the message delay. Based on analysis, the message delay in the queue of TDMA is composed of two parts, one can be calculated on M/M/1 theory, in which the waiting time is from the message coming into being to it being the header of the queue, the other can be modeled by the uniform distribution and Erlang distribution, in which the message waiting time is caused by the header waiting for its turn to be sent. Simulation results are compared with two methods, and Erlang distribution is closer to the simulation results than uniform distribution.

Reduced-frame TDMA protocols for wireless sensor networks
Time-Division Multiple-Access (TDMA) is a common MAC paradigm in wireless sensor networks. However, in its traditional form, the TDMA-based protocols suffer from low channel utilization and high message delay because of a long frame length needed to provide collisionfree transmissions, which is particularly damaging in dense wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we investigate the performanc...

Abstract- Efficient message delivery in city environment is required to ensure driver’s safety and passenger’s comfortability. In cities of developed nations, routing of data in vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) faces many challenges such as radio obstacles, mobility constraints and uneven nodes distribution. These factors primarily makes communication between vehicles complex. To overcome and t...
متن کاملTDMA Protocols with Reduced Frame for Wireless Sensor Networks
TDMA-based MAC protocols, in its traditional form, suffer from low channel utilization and high message delay because of a long frame length needed to provide collision-free transmissions. In this paper, we introduce a class of TDMA-based protocols, called reducedframe TDMA, which allow conflicting slot assignments, but provide every TDMA slot with a short time period dedicated for CSMA-based c...
متن کاملImproving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...
متن کاملEnergy-Aware Probabilistic Epidemic Forwarding Method in Heterogeneous Delay Tolerant Networks
Due to the increasing use of wireless communications, infrastructure-less networks such as Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) should be highly considered. DTN is most suitable where there is an intermittent connection between communicating nodes such as wireless mobile ad hoc network nodes. In general, a message sending node in DTN copies the message and transmits it to nodes which it encounters. A...
